Welcome to our new site and, most importantly, to our blog. In accordance with our mission to bring the world a new kind of email architecture, this blog is dedicated to transforming the way we all think about electronic communication and encourage people to send privately. That's not to say we're skeptics or conspiracy theorists, we simply believe in the sanctity of private communication. Under the 4th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, our founding fathers had the experience and foresight to protect us against illegal search and seizures, guaranteeing a right to personal privacy, but this right is being slowly eroded by the convenience of web-based email.

We all assume the messages we send online are just like letters we send in the post, but in reality they are much more akin to postcards, not sealed envelopes. The emails we send are all sent in plain text, meaning ANYONE can read them. In fact, this is done on purpose by email service providers so that they can easily scan the information you send to develop customer profiles for targeted ad placement. They all say they don't own or share anything you send, but the fact of the matter is that they are reading it and learning about you, whether you know it or not. Even worse is the fact that email companies regularly comply with the government to hand over user data with as little as a subpoena. Again, the end user is totally unaware of this.
